The Business Bulletin began as an idea in November 2001 when Phillip Koehn and Ken Swarey were discussing the need for a platform to advertise among the Plain People. After brainstorming over a meal and later meeting at a Cracker Barrel, they laid the foundation for what would become a beloved publication.
In July 2002, the first sample issue was published, and by August, the second issue already had 16 ads! Over time, the publication grew, with Bryan Wenger joining in 2004 and taking on a key role as editor. In 2009, Phillip became the sole owner and continued to innovate, from hiring Weston Becker for professional design work to installing a digital printing press. The Business Bulletin has flourished thanks to a dedicated team of 17, making it a success for nearly two decades.
Jeremy and Roxie began working their way into the publication in December of 2023 and in March of 2024 published the very first Issue on their own. Jeremy's passion is to be a resource to small business owner's and to help elevate everyone in the current workforce whether employees, or owners.
The main goal of the Business Bulletin is to provide a place to advertise your product, business service, or to place a classified ad. Since this publication goes nationwide, there are certain types of ads that work well. We invite all Plain People to use this publication for advertisements. Your ad will be viewed by other Plain People. All information concerning how to advertise is on page two of every issue.
